Random Pictures

This is how she watches Melmo (Elmo). It is her favorite for sure. She hardly moves while it is on, which gives me a chance to get something done.

She just recently started loving hats. She wore this for about an hour before she got tired of it falling over her eyes.

My sweet baby girl!!

Just the two of us.

My visit with Brooke and sweet Audrey. It was so fun to finally see her. And Faith of course loved running around Star Bucks for several hours. She loved the attention of everyone there, which she for sure gets from her dad. I was so shy as a baby.

Lunch Date with Mere...

So Meredith and I have been in the same town for a while now and finally got together for lunch today. It was super fun to hang out again. Just like old times. We decided to make it a weekly thing, we will see if we both stick to that. ha ha! But we are definitly getting together more often... right Meredith?!?! Anyway, it was fun and I got to make her jealous that I am going to see Brooke and little Audrey this weekend. We were supposed to go together, but I broke the deal. Sorry! We are planning a trip together though, so that will be fun. Well I didn't take any pictures. I guess our next venture will have to be to the park or something so we can take some pics of the kids together. Anyway, thanks Meredith for a fun lunch and a chance to get out of the house. You know!

Weekend trip to Fort Worth

We had the chance to go to Fort Worth this weekend to see lots of friends. I was a little nervous about taking Faith so soon after her tubes, but she had been acting just fine so we decided to just do it. It was a friend (David) of ours 30th b-day, and his wife had set up a surprise party for him. Sadly I have no pics of the birthday boy... isn't that horrible. His wife, Amy, has been a best friend of mine since highschool, so I have pics with her and of course their cute little boy Dylan. David's parents (who I have also known since highschool) babysat Dylan and Faith, so they go to play together. It was nice being out without kids... it has been a long time for us. So we had a nice dinner Sat. night for David's birthday and then some yummy cake, black forrest cake, my new favorite. Also there for his party was another good friend of mine from highschool that I hadn't seen in forever. It's David's sister, and even though I have seen Amy and David several times I have always missed seeing David's sister Amy. Yes both of their names are Amy so it is very confusing. It was more confusing before his sister Amy got married because both of them were "Amy Branscum"; so you couldn't even go by the last name. Anyways, it was very fun seeing everyone at the party!!

Amy, Dylan, Me and Faith

I posted this one for everyone to see Faith's funny face.
Her new thing is to make this bad face then laugh at herself.

Amy (the sister), Me (looking pregnant already) and Faith

Earlier Sat. Stacy and I got to visit my best friend in Forth Worth, Maren. And once again, no pics of her husband (I don't know what it is with the guys missing out on the pics, they probably do it on purpose). I had not seen Carson, their baby, since he was born, and he has grown so much. It was fun seeing them again. And I will be back to see you in two weeks Mr. Carson.

Me, Faith, Maren and Carson

Sun. we got to have lunch with Stacy's sister, Ember. Ember had not seen Faith since she has been walking, so over 5 months. It was nice to see her finally and let Faith spend some time with her aunt.

It was a fun weekend... fast, but so worth it to see so many good friends.

It's over...

We made it through the surgery!!! I will give you a run down on what all we did. We got there at 6:40 and checked in. We waited for a while. They took us up to the prep room where they asked a bunch of questions and Faith got her gown on and we both got braclets. Then we waited. Then we went to the surgery center for children where we met with the anesthesiologist (sp?). The doctor also told us exactly what would happen once they went back. Then we waited some more (you know you always spend more time waiting than anything else). Then the scarry time. Three nurses came out to take her and it was FAST! They made sure she was Faith and ran off with her. I think Faith and I were both in shock (so she didn't cry then). I teared up a little, but told myself it was no big deal and everything was fine, so I kept it together. They came out told us she was out and they were starting. Then after a while the doctor came out and told me it was done and all the details. He was glad the surgery was when it was because one ear just had fluid and it drained fine, but the other ear had thick pastey stuff in it (he explained it like rubber cement)... gross, I know!!! So he had to get a larger suction to get it out. We went and waited for her to get out of observation. I could hear her screaming down the hall from the waiting room. A nurse came and got me (which they do not usually do) and they gave her to me and took us to the recovery room. It went down hill from there. She was screaming in pain. Arching her back (which means pain for Faith) and just completely freaking out. I handled it for a while because they said she would be fussy, but there were 2 other babies her age (one had surgery before us and one after us) that I was watching. One baby was just sleeping peacefully. The other was walking around playing and would cry and throw a fit every once in a while, but nothing like Faith. I was put in a different area than they were. Ok so once I saw both of them get sent home and other kids that had surgery way after Faith being sent home, I lost it. I will admit I was crying!! What really started it was at one point she was laying her head on me trying so hard to go to sleep. She would close her eyes for a few seconds then open them, look right at me like why can't you help me and just cry and cry. It was so sad. No one could figure out why she was soooo upset and actually screaming, not just crying at times. They gave her some pain meds and watched her. Finally after all the pain meds had a chance to take affect she only cried off and on instead of constant screaming. They decided to send us home, but told me to watch her close and if she continued crying all day to bring her back. (I wasn't sure if I wanted to go home... they kind of scared me.) BUT once we got in the car she was asleep in seconds and she slept for about 4 hours. Then she went to bed at 7:30 and slept till 9:00 (which she usually goes down at 8:30 and is up by 7:00). It scared me, but I think it was just all the stuff she went through knocked her out. ALL that to say, she is good to go today. She was totally normal (maybe a little more tired, but that's it). I am glad we did it, but so glad it is over. I am thankful nothing really bad actually happened, in the end they think it was pain from that one ear having such think fluid that was hard to get out. It was sure not fun watching her like that. But all is well. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers for my little trooper.

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!

Faith is doing so much better with the pneumonia. I am so thankful. She has actually been acting very well (not sick). It is hard to see her doing so well and know that I have to send her into surgery tomorrow. Not that I would want her to go into surgery sick, that would be worse in a way, but it is just so good to see her being her normal self finally. BUT I know the tubes will be a big help in keeping her well in the future. She has been out of school for over 2 weeks, so I know that has helped keep her well too. One of the kids in my little 3 year old class - his mom was telling me that he has had 4 heart surgeries... so that has given me GREAT perspective. She then did tell me her baby daughter is possibly going to have to get tubes too, and she did say it would still be hard to watch her go through that... which helped me not feel so dumb and like I was totally over reacting!! Anyway, we go to the hospital at 6:40 a.m. tomorrow. Her actual surgery time is like 8:10 I think, so I am hoping to be out of there by lunch at the latest. We will see. One of my friend's husband is an anesthesiologist (sp?) and he told me that the actual surgery is only 3 minutes. Isn't that crazy? It is all the prep work and then making sure she is good to go once she wakes up that takes so long. I know God is with her, but I still dread watching someone take her way from me at the hospital. I will let you know how it goes!!!
